A boxing game is way over due since EA flopped by leaving Fight Night behind for the terrible UFC game. I may sound cocky and arrogant, but I have the ultimate idea for a boxing game. If only I was talented enough to make it, which I am not. Here it is!
Imagine a boxing game with the deepest career mode ever, screw story modes, fighting as a fictional character down a predestined path. A game that starts in boxing roots. The bare knuckle era before the Marquess of Queensberry rules were adopted. You create a fighter and begin a career in the 1800's. As the fighters career winds down, you can retire that fighter and create another in the timeline you've began. As the times change, so do the venues, broadcasting, and presentation. And you can select the time in which you want to begin. Say you want a crack at Joe Louis, or Walcott, or Marciano. You start your career in the 30's and work you way up the latter. Changing history. As times change, so does the presentation. From the black and white television with the quick announcer over the barely audible cheer of the audience, to the 60's and 70's of color. In Ali's era, the technocolor of the 70's with the authentic presentation that we witness of classic showings we see on ESPN classic. To the 80's, and 90's of Tyson. To the current. And in doing so, maybe you can be the first loss on Mayweather's career. Or beat Ali before he was banned from boxing to become known as the greatest. Or be the first to knock out Rocky Marciano.
Have the career mode deep, like Madden's GM mode does. Give us the ability to have multiple fighters going at once in our altered timeline. So not only can we enjoy the game. Friends and family can too. Say you got a fighter going and a friend comes over and wants to get in. Create a new prospect in your game and battle when the time is right. Be able to link it online with multiple friends. On top of this, get the promotional idea down. Get the Arums, Don kings and company of promoters in the game. Don't set a path where your fight is chosen but negotiations have to take place with options from multiple fighters. If you're ten fights in, have the ability to call out the champ, maybe he'll fight you, maybe he won't. Bring in money and purse splits in negotiations so you have a career earnings to reflect on and compete with others. On top of all this, make the gameplay great. All this is irrelevant if the game is not real. Give us great knockdowns and knockouts, this is what made fight night in the beginning, for us who remember hitting the guy all the way to the ground was fun and a great showstopper among a group of laughing friends. When a knockdown or knockout happens, give us a realistic follow up chance. Great in fighting, clinch fighting, outside fighting. A parry system that makes since and is not to easy and sloppy. When you miss and/ or are parried, you're fighter doesn't sit there like a jackass to get hit. Realistic movement, bob and weaves, punches. Haymakers that land that should be crucial, are. No health meter. Swelling, cuts, that are real. I dunno, maybe I'm asking a bit much. But we are in the PS4, Xbox one era. I think it's totally possible. There are more but I will stop here and let anyone through in what I've missed that would be awesome. Great ideas usually take multiple great minds to achieve. And I am not a great mind. Just a dreamer.
