New Career Story

2K Sports Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

Ight so hear me out people.
So i kinda have a story thats different than what we are use to since im tired of the same basketball story and gameplay.

So my story starts off as a highschool kid best of his class popular and everything gets picked to a college but as summer vacation happens a crime occurs near him the suspects run right past him the officers chasing mistaken him as the criminal and he gets sent to jail and all his hope and dreams are crushed hes in court pleading it wasnt him but ends up losing the case regardless since hes poor and couldnt afford a good lawyer gets sent to jail. Hes now serving time in jail play jail ball. (At this point game 2k adds a new feature called rep earn street cred and nick names to boost your popularity to unlock stuff for your character some stuff granting little boost to your stats by completing objectives in the court u unlock rep and nick names specific to those objects similar to the accolades u have right now) so anyway he plays jail ball learns how rough and unfair life is but builds his character making him stronger and so on he makes a friend in jail and even an enemy a rival player he ends up with another court hearing which gets him parole and now hes out of jail and back at home but things are rough parents cant afford rent and such due to legal costs. So he decides to help he will use his basketball talents and earn some money hustling people in street ball making a name for himself in the street so people remember that he was the cool kid in highschool he runs into old class mates in the street which brought his morale down making him depressed seeing how far in life theyve gotten while he still in a hole for something he aint do especially after being so popular a old friend after a couple street ball games and some objectives complete shows him a flyer of a street ball 5v5 tournament coming up with some prize money that could help him and his family out he becomes interested but he requires a 5 man squad to join and doesnt have anyone. So he hits the street the court to increase his rep so he can get a team. As he plays street ball game hes able to recruit people to his team of his liking some people require higher rep to recruit than others so playing good and having good stats and team grade increase your odds of getting better players for your 5v5 also some characters will be unlocked for your team by besting them in 1v1 lr 2v2 or 3v3s. Eventually he gets to the tournament has his team plays through it and gets into some controversy one of the rival team players recognized him on the news as one of the criminals and that he was locked up and your character pleading to the crowd that it wasnt him this distracts him and makes him play bad but then he becomes determined that he has to overcome this for himself and his family he becomes more humble more patient instead of the arrogant popular kid he was in highschool. He ends up getting to the end of the tournament wins gets the check and a chance to speak to the world in an interview where he pleads his situation and how its changed his life. Someone famous was watching and felt inspired by this and hires a lawyer for him a good one which ends up helping him clear his name and letting him be able to follow his dream to join the nba but still has to prove himself moving him to the g league the people he was locked up with saw him on the t.v actually make and get excited except for his rival.a year passes he finish his time with the g league gets drafted to the nba his rival that was locked up which he had issues with gets out of jail and starts some beef with your player in the street almost messing up your career again where he ultimately challenges u to a 1v1 1 last time to really know what type of person uve grown into. As u win an emotional scene happens where he tells u how he lost his little brother to gang violence and that u reminded him of his little brother and that hes sorry for everything and that hes proud u made it this far and he shakes your hand and tells u go show the nba what u showed me and boom stort ends and your career begins.
