Caregiver Voicemail Function
AT&T Wireless New Service IdeaSubmitted 8 years ago
As our population ages and many working Americans are stepping into the caregiver role, a new solution is needed to support family members and loved ones who have memory impairments related to dementia, brain injury, Alzheimers and other neurological issues. This tailored voicemail and phone call rerouting feature for families through a phone company would allow a caregiver to record a specific voicemail for the affected loved one to hear in order to provide a reminder, or verbal reassurance for easily forgotten information. This phone feature would also redirect calls to another caregiver if a phone respite is needed. For example, my mom who has dementia forgets when I'll be visiting next, so while I'm at work, I could set a voicemail for her specifically to listen to when I'm unavailable. Similarly, I could have a feature to forward her call to my brother if I'm on vacation (I'm her primary caregiver). I tried this as an app but was unable to create it...I think it could be possible with a family service plan. Thank you. Kari Blair 816-808-1657
