Child Punishment

How can I completely turn off my child's phone? Not just phone calls but more importantly wifi usage as punishment. It seems crazy that with all the technology available I can't just click a button and kill the phone. I know we can turn off the ability to make and receive calls or to disable dat usage but it seems it would be easier to just shut down the phone. Even if it is for a period of hours or days. Thanks
