Emergency Phone For Elderly, People With Dementia

AT&T Wireless New Product Idea

Submitted 6 years ago

To be used if their main phone would become inoperable due to storms or other issues. Would enable family or emergency personnel to contact them and vice versa. This would be the size of a typical cordless phone. It would have cell phone technology built into it using a wireless provider. It would have only 4 large buttons with a space to the right for names. This would be set up to dial only the 4 numbers programed in by connecting to a computer via USB cable. Only receive calls from the same 4 programed numbers all others would be blocked. The display screen would show battery level, name of caller, date and time. It would use a typical cordless phone charging stand.

I am dealing with a individual that has the early stages of dementia and still lives alone. She has problems with the normal cordless phone and when there is a problem with her main line we can't contact her nor her us. We had a wireless flip phone there but she could never figure it out. I feel my idea considering all the baby boomers getting old a phone like this may be worth producing.

I have a rough design on a word document if you would want it sent to you. Just contact me as to where to send it.
