Amazon Prime Shouldnt Go With The Postal Service

Amazon prime doesn't always work when you order something and it goes postal service. If you don't have a mailbox the product gets sent back and you never get it. It only works with Fed Ex and UPS.

In spite of the lying, false emails from USPS that say "we attempted delivery blah, blah, blah", they have never...and I repeat, NEVER delivered an Amazon or any other package to my house. My mailbox is just under 2 miles away and that is as close as they have ever come to delivering and that's only if I order something that fits in their tiny little box. The reality is, I end up making a 30 mile round-trip to pick up my Amazon package that is supposed to be delivered to my porch. USPS is pretty much worthless for deliveries where I live, so I fully support eliminating them as an option.

The U. S. Postal Service delivers Monday through Saturday. That is one day longer than UPS and FedEx which charge a lot extra for weekend delivery. In fact Amazon.com contracts with some USPS offices for both Saturday and Sunday delivery. SOME Post Office locations have what USPS calls extended services, including the one I use, and those offices accept delivery of UPS and FedEx packages to box holders, although the addressing is the physical address of that postal service location followed by the box number, as if it were just a sub identification number.

The one downside of accepting deliveries at a USPS location is they take an extra day, because the packages to box holders are not sorted for pickup at the counter until after 10:30 a.m. the day after actual delivery. During the holiday shopping season it might even take 2 days extra.
