Uniform Units Across All Products

There are a lot of products sold by weight or volume where the units are all over the place. I know this is by design in US (to confuse the customer by not allowing comparisons).
But Amazon being able to offer so many products, has only to gain by providing a uniform measurement units for all products.
I think a widget that gives me the weight/volume in SI units + the price per unit would make my buying experience much nicer and reduce the amount of returns/bad reviews.
