Based on my previous studies on the expression and purification of proteins and peptides such as GLP-1, I am very interested in study on the production of protein and peptide-based drugs for diabetes treatment.
I have an idea for production of a new version of GLP-1 based drug. In this version, the GLP-1 peptide (7-37) will fused to a sHSP protein which then performed an oligomeric structure. These oligomeric complexes display subunit exchange with their dimeric subunits. Therefore the drug will release gradually and probably act as a long acting drug.
