BMW Model DD (Done With Disability)

BMW New Product Idea

Submitted 3 years ago

Has BMW ever thought of creating a wheel chair for a disabled person with mobility problems. Disability is stigmatizing, makes me stand out and adds to the feeling of being pitied or worse, feeling invisible. When my disability was beginning I cashed my retirement fund and bought a new Silver BMW convertible in the dead of a Michigan Winter, with leather seats and a sports package. I was falling a lot in those days but once I reached my car and closed the door I was safe, warm and forgot my struggles. I was surrounded by style and elegance and a sound system that raised that penetrated my soul. My car made me happy and people who felt awkward about approaching me were totally at ease coming up to talk about the car. Once we drove it through the McDonald drive-through and let the servers enjoy it. It just made people grin and smile. Now that I cannot walk at all and use a wheelchair I want those same characteristics again. Speed, safety, elegance and joy.
