Pre-ignition Combustion Engine Emission Device

BMW New Product Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

Is this meaningful??
I would like to let you know that:-

In a village in South Africa is a man who has been working for the last around 15 years on an internal combustion engine pre-ignition device which he has patented.
He then managed to scrape together enough money to pay for a series of tests on an Isuzu 20 ton truck using ISO compliant equipment with some startling results:-
A reduction of Carbon Monoxide emissions by 97.27% (According to the BBC backup facts after the Paris Summit the biggest contributing factor to Global Warming is Carbon Monoxide at 57%.)
A reduction of Carbon Dioxide emissions by 12.05%

An increase in Oxygen creation and output by 4.81%

There is an increase of some percent on the Nitrous Oxide emissions - which I see from the BBC report contribute a lesser 8% to Global Warming.

The tests also produced the following power data:-

Without Unit With Unit Increase/ Engine Temp. Decrease
Norm Power 239, 0 KW 251, 0 KW 12.0 KW

Engine Output 205, 0 KW 214, 5 KW 9.6 KW

Wheel Output 146, 0 KW 154, 0 KW 8.0 KW

Drag Output 59, 0 KW 60, 5 KW 1.5 KW

Exhaust Temp. 480,0 C 464,0 C 16,0 C Resultant fuel saving.

Max power at 74 Km/h / 1980 RPM 78 Km/h / 2090 RPM

I have attached the test printouts for your interest the last page of the Lezar Report is the important one.

In addition there are no toxic materials used in the device manufacture, all materials are recyclable, there is no wear and tear, there are no electronics involved and each device could carry a lifetime guarantee.

I realize that one test does not prove everything conclusively but also believe that these results are meaningful and that they were produced with a crude prototype which can obviously do with some further refining and tweaking using sophisticated technology, which he does not have access to.

I am sending this to you as I would really appreciate your thoughts and input, together with any helpful suggestions you might have.
My thinking is that, just maybe, here is something that could have a meaningful impact on the Global Warming situation with a bit of a trade off with the Nitrous Oxide emissions, but maybe further Research and Development and fine tuning could reduce this.

I do hope that you will give this some consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
Bruce Watt
