New Game Idea! Something That Will Capture All!!

Blizzard New Product Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

I got this idea of a game from a reading a book series.
"War of the spider queen". If any of you are familiar with it, then you will quickly pick up what I'm about to lay out. If not, it's one hell of a read and I highly advise you should.

The series reflects on the lifestyle and day to day trials of being drow and living in the underdark. The series provide plenty for lore and I don't know what right you have to obtain from the author if they would allow it to continue or branch of the said lore but it could really be deep and fascinating. One of the main points of the series is how it describes the system in which they live. They belong to houses. These houses are ranked by their power and forces. A lesser house knows not to cross the top houses because the will be crushed or eliminated. But they can form secret alliances with other houses in an attempt to seize or defeat a higher house and move their own house up in the ranks. I believe this type of game with this exact or similar type of system can bring an interesting aspect of game play for an MMO. Being the top house on your server can give you access to perks and content that are otherwise inaccessible. Each ranking house below it will have its respective perks of course. It gives more than just the games content to strive for and brings back the competitive group play that a lot of mmo players miss.

This game would only be successful as the story itself as long as it follows the same morals. By that I mean very crazy morals. The drow were deceptive and backstabbing was a way of life to get to the top. This would be a game where trust is grey line that can be crossed. Spies will be a thing. Tactics to overthrow a higher ranked house can be ruthless and deceiving. I guarantee that a game like this will be hard to compete with and would be the next long lasting mmo like wow. Please put thought into it. I would love to see something like this. Read war of the spider queen series and make his happen!!!!
