Ejection

So, if a pilot in a fighter can eject...
Why not entire passenger cabins.
I can definitely envision exactly how it looks in my head.
A cabin with parachutes under the cabin and an entire cabin with a slanted Ejection rail in front and back so it could be ejected at a 15 to 20 degree angle.
A really powerful ejection device just like fighter pilots, just on a huge scale.
If we can put people into space, you can design a cabin that could be separated from the fuselage and parachute safely to earth.
I swear I can already see the design in my head. I know it could be safely done given that the pilots had the right set of circumstances. You can't save everybody every time in some cases, but create a design that can save some of the people some of the time. I know for a fact it could be done!
My sister has been a flight attendant for over 30 years w/southwest. I flown a bunch and when I see it in my head, I know it could be done! I'm just a mechanical guy, I know this would work.
