Photodiodes Fited To Pito Tubes

After watching a YouTube video of an almost disaster of a Malaysian Aircraft with 3 Pito tube covers missed by the groundcrew and the captain...why not install a simple solution like a light photodiode on the tubes so that if those covers are stupidly missed then the updated software on their startup procedures would indicate the covers are still on (as no light being received) and warn them. (maybe the warning message.." hey dumbo, go out and take off the covers)lol.
It may have been an idea already but it would surely be a cheap addition with the consequence of saving the plane, crew, passengers, and pilot embarrassment as well. ? Don't you think?
