Reverse Thrust Engine

Boeing Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 3 years ago

Landing and bringing the aircraft to a stop is still a great challenge. Further to the existing braking systems my idea would be to mount a small engine on the roof of the aircraft but in the reverse direction. Once it starts running it should pull back the aircraft as demonstrated in the picture. The engine should reach its maximum power along with the reverse thrust activation. A small engine possibly used in private jets like the Honda or Vision jet ! May be suitable. Just an idea I feel may help to reduce the speed further upon landing.
