User-Programmable Filter With Smart Phone App
Bose New Product IdeaSubmitted 72 days ago
The device would be for ordinary consumers who are using optical, HDMI, analog cables, or bluetooth to carry audio signal to a soundbar, receiver, etc.
The device would be used in line between the source and target device to adjust the volume of the output according to an internal processer. The device's internal processor could be configured by a remote or smart phone app. When a user hears or is about to hear a certain sound, voice, or soundtrack they could press a button to begin a new recognition. The device could store a library of audio characteristics that it will use to recognize that a known sound, voice, or soundtrack. Once a known audio is recognized, the device could lower the volume to a level specified by the user using the remote or app.
The user could manage the library to disable or remove settings. The device could perform other filtering to provide customized preferences specific to the audio being played.
It is expected that the recognition processing is separate from the audio signal processing, such that a delay in recognition may result in a short delay of the application of the preference, but would not delay the audio playback.
