Child/Pet Safety Seat

I noticed my car has a light on the dash that indicates the airbag is on/off when someone is in the passenger seat and when they are not. That same indicator idea can be transferred to the back seat on both sides as an indication that a child is in the car and wired to the ignition so that the car does not allow the driver to shut the vehicle off until said weight is removed from those back seats. It is a very simple change with a huge impact so not one more child has to die needlessly and what a jump ahead for Chevrolet to be innovators in this area. If auto makers can make a car park itself/drive itself... then surely it doesn't take someone like me to come up with something so simple to save a child's life.
