The Universal Call Blocking Option would block all calls that 10 or more other customers have directly blocked. Obviously, this requires a database of blocked calls, but that is already needed for current blocking options. All your programmers would need to do is periodically update a new blocking table created from calls blocked by some number of existing customers.
If 10 people block a number, then everyone who elected this option would be protected from calls originating from that number. This method is limited in those cases where imposter numbers are used to call someone. That limitation may be render this method moot.
This would be difficult today as spammers are using valid numbers that are not in use, I assume, but perhaps they're using someone's current number?
I'd like to see any call with a City as the caller blocked immediately. Cities don't call people. I get a lot of those calls....Always asking for my credit card number so they can reduce my interest rate to zero......
