Every time I have either upgraded my service or replaced my Direct TV DVR, I lose all of the programs that I have recorded, plus my schedule for recording upcoming shows is lost as well. I would like to recommend that we have the ability to back up those two elements to an external hard drive and then be able to restore that data to the new DVR. It's a computer with a hard drive. The technology is already here.
