State Required Legal Notices
Google New Product IdeaSubmitted 9 years ago
Every state has a requirement that all legal filings be publicised. This it to assure that potental adversely affected citizens are aware of filings, foreclosures and such. When this practice started, they were posed on the courthouse wall, later required to publish for X weeks in the County organ. That being the largest paid circulation newspaper in each county.
Now, in the internet age that has become a state mandatee subssity for local newspapers who have lost most of their readership and advertisers. What's more, in most metro arreas, interested parties don't read all 18 or so counties that belong to the general interest area.
So, my proposal is to lobby the states to require lawyers to place their ads for free on a state sponsored and generrally promoted website which can be searched by topic, law firm, county, type of notice, and other such descrriptors. Google can promose to create it, promote it, and limit their advertising to hotlinks inside the ads andd otherr non invasive forms of advertising.
For instance. A house being forecloseed could have the address hot linked to the coounty assessors site descrription, and/ or a service like Zillow.com, or Realtor.com, or agents who want to specialize in foreclosure buyerr representation.
Each area of official notices presents a different ad potential, while at the same time exposing Google to additional traffic, especially in the legal and real estate services areas.
