Surround Photos From Interesting Places All Over The World

Google New Product Idea

Submitted 9 years ago

Making interactive panoramas is not a new idea, but it seems to be rather little used, maybe because it is difficult for non-professionals to make these, and the results are often very little convincing. However I have found a way, which seems to be rather efficient, and (with the right sort of equipment) could be a great way to illustrate various places (and be used in conjunction with Google Earth). No special formats are needed, not stitching either, just ordinary jpg-photos as they are (taken with a 35mm lens). A specially designed (with a remote controlled direction device) tripod for the purpose would of course be helpful, and also a dedicated viewer integrated into the Google Earth platform would be ideal.
