Am So Worried
Google Service Improvement IdeaSubmitted 8 years ago
India is a diverse country and Tamil is one of the ancient language with 70 Million Tamil speaking population which stands at 20th place globally. When I used Google Maps, I'm surprised to see Tamil is not listed in the language. Rather languages with comparatively lesser number of speakers are listed. Note: Am not against other languages, just raising my concern for my mothertongue. Tamil origin is believed to be during 2500 BC. To my surprise, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, was born in TamilNadu and didn't notice this. Am sure he/his family must be using android mobile and Google maps for navigation. Had he not even noticed that his mothertongue is missing when he access his mobile. Just because of the fact that he's CEO of Google, am not asking for the favor. Tamil is one of the oldest surviving languages in the world. If you like to know the rich heritage and culture of Tamil, please google it.
So I believe not only Tamil, every classical language deserves to be included in android (atleast TTS)
Thanks
