Dear Eric Smidt,
I am writing to request your support of a lucrative invention. I am at the stage in the invention process where I require a small financial investment for the purpose of obtaining the necessary licenses and a provisional patent. For your support and backing, I would like to propose a 2% equity on the amount you invest. This 2% would be returned to you monthly and would begin upon my receipt of the utility patent, which is estimated to occur in approximately 15 months. Your initial investment will be paid back to you, the investor, in full. The monthly payments will cease once my invention is in its final stages of sales, estimated to occur in approximately two to three years.
A second option would be that you, the investor, can remain invested in my invention and receive 5% of your initial total investment amount throughout the term of the utility patent which is estimated to begin once I receive the utility patent and last for 20 years. You, the investor, would receive monthly payments of the 5% amount.
All financial transactions would be handled in the form of monetary instruments, preferably cashier's checks and/or money orders. Additionally, where possible, I would recommend that funds be directly deposited if this is agreed to by both parties. While I make no guarantee regarding the profitability of my invention, I have conducted the requisite market research and have been a professional in the industry for over 25 years. My experience and research indicate a high probability for a positive return on your investment in me and in my invention.
