New Infection Control Idea
Henry Schein New Product IdeaSubmitted 65 days ago
I am a practicing dentist in Perrysburg OH, and I always found it extremely frustrating and not infection control compliant that there was no proper way to rinse out a crown or veneer after it is tried in the mouth. I have done a poll of about 20 dentists and they all say they blow air water spray on the crown, in the operatory, with contamination from saliva filled aerosols going all over the room (either on the patient tray or behind the patient, and regardless of where it is being done, it is not clean). Given how us healthcare professionals have become after Covid19 about infection control, I find it hard to understand why there was no clean solution for it.
I have created, designed, patented and currently use in my practice, a funnel that can attach to the high speed suction and it can be used to clean anything tried in the mouth. Due to the suction pulling any aerosols with saliva created by the air water syringe this can keep the patient, healthcare professionals and operatories safe and clean. As I had stated, this product has been patented and I have working prototypes.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
