The idea is to have lighthouse like things to help with controller tracking on the hp Reverb G2.
The main tracking can still be done by the inside out system, but i theorize that having outside in and inside out work in tandem would vastly improve the quality of controller tracking.
Calibration could be made a breeze as well, since initial location data would come from the inside out system.
What i am proposing is a add-on that can be bought in addition to a headset. Not everyone wants it due to play area constraints, however i predict a large part of the existing userbase of Reverb users would buy it instantly once announced.
Recap:
USB connected tracking device that tracks the dot matrix on reverb controllers and illuminated logo of the headset for ease of calibration.
Can be bought 1 by 1 as it is ment to be a add-on/aid to the existing solution.
Reason: Existing controller tracking is insufficient for a large range of activities(out of HMD camera view range) but sufficient for less intense use cases.
