Constructive Suggestions

Honda Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 5 years ago

I absolutely love the CRV. I have owned three of them over the years and other family members have as well. This, in addition to a Civic, an Accord and a couple of Pilots. However, I have two constructive complaints with the current CRV model:
The first is the lack of a physical knob to change radio channels. A touchscreen may seem high tech but it is a step backward. Changing non-preset channels (frequently as I do) or to perform other functions such as switching between categories in Sirius radio requires the driver to look at the screen in order to accurately position the finger and execute the touch properly. A frustrating and tedious process as well as a safety distraction.
I suggest that Honda revert back to a physical rotating knob which can be intuitively locates and used without having to look at it. Audi has done it right with a knob on the radio or on the center console (even better).

My second complaint is the current CRV styling. In my opinion it is also a step backward. The look of the last model was questionable but this current model with the jutting rear lights, the more bulbous front fenders/hood, and the heaviness look of the rear panel behind the rear wheels (side view) is downright ugly. I also don't care for the stealth bomber type angular look of the driver dash cluster (speedometer, etc). Here too, Audi has done it well with the soft but sleek angles of their Q3 )inside me out).
