Fuel Efficient Gasoline Supercars

We have all heard of the legendary NSX, right? It's truly an awesome car, but its fuel efficiency is terrible (not the worst, though), like any other supercar. To make an improvement to this I think that we should make a type of engine that shuts off a few of the cylinders at low speeds to lessen fuel consumption. It should gradually activate cylinders based on how much the driver pushes the accelerator. There should also be an option (track mode) where all cylinders are active at all times and there should be an option to activate as many cylinders that the driver wants. Using this, we can make the first fuel efficient gasoline supercar! (This should apply to all cars with more than 4 cylinders)
