On your phones, where the home button would on normally be on a Samsung/iPhone, you should have a touch pad seperate from the display spanning the width of the device. This could handle the home button (tap), back button ( swipe left), menu button (swipe up), recent apps (swipe down), Google now (hold), and user definable gestures for camera, settings, etc. This would greatly enhance the user experience and free up the display from the on screen buttons.
