Drivers Should Input How Far The Vehicle Can Go, They Go Online.

Lyft Service Improvement Idea

Submitted 304 days ago

I have had a good amount of passengers recently that have been trying to go on further rides. Further as an over 150 mi away..

Almost every single passenger that I have gotten those requests from, have informed me that they had other drivers come but they had to cancel the ride due to having an electric car that could not go that far. Resulting in a longer wait for a vehicle to come pick them up.

Most of these passengers are waiting over 45 minutes before a gas powered vehicle that can make that trip, gets connected with them.

I have an idea that could eliminate that issue all together..

By having the drivers input how far their tank can go when they click go online, the app can then determine what rides they can give or can't give.

For example, if I tell the app that my car can only go 125 mi with the fuel that I have in my car, then I should not be paired with someone trying to go 168 miles away. As I have already stated that I can only go 125 mi.

But if somebody is requesting a ride 20 mi long, and I can go 125 mi on my tank, then I can be paired with them.

It would eliminate the wait time significantly, especially for these rides.
