Lyft Idea Promos And Usage Pattern Downtown Toronto User

Lyft Service Improvement Idea

Submitted 5 years ago

Hi,
Just wanted to throw out an idea so you have at least my preference and usage pattern in mind.
There was one time it was between Uber and Lyft and your prices were literally 1 cent difference. So you may consider even dropping prices a bit for higher usage though I understand operational costs and salaries may not be realistic that way.

I feel you may get more people riding Lyft with offering consistent reward schedule or promo.

I take Lyft or Uber 5 days a week the cheaper commute option and when pricing is surged on both in case of rainy days I'll take public transport.

So assuming no rain that would be 5 work days * 4.3 weeks maybe 22 ish trips a month I take. If you can give 5-10 trips discounted it would be appealing as an option alternative to public transport.

My trips are short so $7 on avg * 22 = $154.
Now ideally I'd like to take Lyft both ways which is more like $308. If you could cut down $4 off 10 trips it closed to $260 so nearly close to a slightly economical saavy versus public transit.

Where as a public transport TTC metropass goes for $146.

Although it may be some loss from promo in a way getting users to take more consistent trips and using you as their core option would be more business for you also.
