Every Lyft driver wants to earn as much money as they can. I personally hate not knowing if driving for Lyft is going to be a good week or bad week. Lyft drivers need a way of knowing the least amout they will earn that week. Locking in scheduled rides will allow lyft drivers to know a guaranteed amount beforehand. After seeing how much they will get for scheduled rides, this will motivate them to keep pushing to their weekly goal. Keep in mind that this is just the least amount for scheduled rides. That's not counting the nonscheduled rides. So Lyft drivers automatically know their is more money that can be made. They will know how to map out and plan their week. By planning their week it will decrease the amount of time riding around and waiting on rides to pop up. This will also save on gas. Giving just the smallest discount percentage to passengers will increase the scheduled rides a lot more. Driver's will make more money and passengers will get percentage off rides and also reach their destination on time.
