18V Electric Starter For Pull-Starter Petrol Engines

Makita New Product Idea

Submitted 3 years ago

Everybody has one of these 4-stroke petrol engines on machines they rarely use. Pulling this rope on an engine that never want to start, is exhausting. Especially for old people. There are engines with electric starter but these engines need a battery and an alternator. You can barely find them on lawnmowers/chippers/etc. Also the batteries need to be charged regulary by a running engine in order to keep functioning.

The solution would be a replacement for the factory recoil starter with a Makita 18V attachement for small 4-stroke engines. The attachment would turn the engine for a couple of seconds until it starts. There would be no need for an alternator as the battery would be charged with the normal Makita charger.

These recoil starters are pretty much standard for all small 4-stroke engines. 18V should supply enough power as there are already drill bits than can could similar things but are less convenient.
