I've been using month to month service with Net 10. My service expired and I decided it might be nice to sign up for monthly deductions from my bank account to not risk having my service accidentally disrupted again. Seeing I have a lot of bills due around the end of the month I want a due date in the middle of the month, i.e. June 14 to 16. I figured any company could prorate a bill so I could select the due date. They said they could not. What? I'm trying to allow them to deduct money from my account every month yet they won't prorate my bill for me! I was told I had two options: (1) I could go without phone service until mid-June and renew then, not an option too many people would select or (2) I could renew my phone service now and then call and renew again around the 15th of June. Service between the 1st and the 15th would be charged twice. I asked if I could be refunded for the days I would be charged double. They said they had no way to do that. What!? I thought it was odd that they had no way to prorate my bill. It is absolutely ludicrous that they have no way to either credit my account or to send me a refund for what would amount to an overpayment! I talked to a "manager" and the manager's "supervisor" which included being on the line for well over and hour, much of that time on hold. Looking on line I see there are a multitude of customer service complaints about Net 10. How can a company not prorate to avoid overcharging and further tell me that they have no way to refund me the difference? I guess it is time to start doing business with someone else.
