Netflix Everywhere

Dear Netflix,

International subscriber growth will turn you into a world power, but only if the growth is astronomical and rapid. It has to blow away everyone's expectations and leave Amazon, Hulu, and others in the dust.

In many countries the majority of the population cannot afford a Netflix subscription. Subscriber growth is limited to the middle-upper class minority. To grow astronomically Netflix needs the lower-class. How?

Give it away! Everyone can watch Netflix, but commercials are shown to non-paying (free) subscribers.

This is what I see... in poor areas around the world people will gather around a single TV and watch Sense8. In a short-time, everyone will want their own TV. It will be a status symbol. Families will save and pool their money to buy one. TV Sales will be out of this world, but only if there's an affordable and quality TV within their reach. They'll dream of owning it and someday they will.

Hmmm... TV sales out of this world? Netflix this is your TV! Make it and you'll sell millions and millions and millions. With every TV give-away 6 months or a year of commercial-free Netflix. When it ends, people will subscribe that might not have before.

When family members join the middle class the first thing they'll do is buy a Netflix TV and subscription for their parents. It will be expected and necessary to show they've succeeded.

This is my vision of Netflix.
