Radioactivity Detection Using Mobile Phones

Sony Ericsson Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

Described here is a mobile phone, and a mobile phone attachment for detecting radioactivity, i.e. from radon gas leaking into homes and alerting the phone user and the appropriate authorities.

The phone camera can be easily made to act as a radioactivity detector when it is not being used to take pictures. On detecting the radioactivity, the phone raises an alarm to alert the user, and it automatically calls the Free Global Network or the local enforcement agency to send position coordinates.
