Because weed eating and edging got more difficult as I got older I designed and successfully built a prototype of a mower deck mounted electric weed eater/edger that can be mounted to the mower deck and operated without leaving the operators seat by simply pressing switches, you can switch from weed eating mode to edging mode and can adjust it as needed for the desired cutting height. This operates off the battery so no mixed gas is required. This would not only help older people like myself to keep their yard looking good without having to walk around carrying a weed eater and for those in lawn care maintains this part of their job could be completed much faster enabling them to go to their next job quicker.
