Time Warner Cable Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

Today, I received a letter from Michael Diamond, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Time Warner Cable. The letter was an offer for me to switch my cable supply company to Time Warner. Well, guess what folks, I've been a Time Warner Cable customer for over 15 years. Shouldn't you do a better job deciding who you should be sending your mass-mailing to? I would appreciate not wasting my time reading and responding to such junk....Maybe Mr. Diamond already has enough on his plate also.

WOW, I could cut and paste from each of you and my letter would be as complete as all of them. Not only have I NOT had a television for five years because I went back to college, hold at times more than five part time positions during the out of school times, leaving me no time for watching, I have called, left messages, written letters and have visited TWC offices to remove my name and address off their list of contact for the past five years. I would like them to stop killing trees, using them in such an unwise manner as their ridiculous ads. If I had a television, I certainly wouldn't subscribe with them as I too had ridiculous issues with them as well, costing me almost triple to finally get rid of them. This company is like that perpetual unwanted cousin, you know, the one that stays around without a job while you continue to work your behind off thinking maybe, just maybe he'll get a job.....

I also received a Letter from Michael Diamond pertaining to how much I could be getting for less...I subscribe to the $14.99 internet; that's all I need. Was assured that was not an introductory rate and it would not change. So far so good on that. My bills were about $20 monthly. Perfect. But, since I set up service, they have gradually increased the Modem leasing fee from $5 to $8 and now it's $10! All within less than a year. Maybe I would be interested in more services from TWC if it had not been for the underhanded increasing of this fee. This certainly does not create customer loyalty. Makes me feel taken advantage of and lied to. Why would I want to pay TWC more? No thank you. Keep your "savings" on bundled offers to yourself and please stop sending me offers through the mail; waste of paper when I specifically asked for electronic communications only anyway.

Currently on the least expensive, internet-only, plan for $14.99/month. Their equipment in our rural area will not support the advertised faster speeds promised in ads and direct mailings asking us to consider "how much more entertainment you could be getting - for less." If I'm already capable of receiving all the entertainment I wish at $14.99/mo, why would I consider $79.99/mo (first year only not including taxes, equipment, broadcast, and other surcharges) for channels I do not want to see and speeds the neighborhood equipment cannot provide? Why do I receive some slightly altered version of this same letter every month in a mailing separate from the regular bill? If they could manage their advertising dollars more wisely perhaps their monthly service fees could go down?

I would like to make a couple of suggestions...You show commercials referring to $89.99 specials for internet and cable and phone packages and then charge me 3 times more than that every month. I understand its a temporary offer and expires after a while. Then, on top of that, you send me mail through the USPS as "Resident" offering special packages. I suggest that you might reward those customers that have stuck by you when you continue to raise your rates and equipment costs! Maybe someone there might look into and omitting sending useless offers not intended for current customers so OUR cost might just come down to where its almost affordable again!
Please consider these suggestions in the future before I can't afford to watch TV anymore.
Thank you

I received a lette from Mr. Michael Diamond about a special proram they were offering. Well it sounded good until I called the custer relations team. First they said I should have not received the letter then they changed their tune I should have gotten it. Got to discussing it and stated I do not record programs an d do not like showtime same movvies over and over.I asked if I could change the dvr box and showtime for 2 boxes for my other bedrooms so I could catch who was calling. They said no and not only that I would have to pay for epix you said that came with the program. Would dvr box I and showtime cost more per month than the 2 extra boxes? I ended up get 2 extra boxes and paying for epix cecause they said I chaned the nprogram ended up paying more money. Good old TWC. that's my story and I do not believe anything can be done about it. Oh looks like a big raise cominb g in next bill.

I signed up for TWC Internet in September, 2014 at about $70.00 per month. Just a few months later, there was a problem and we were getting about 2Mb/s downstream. We had to wait a week for the service to come and fix something in the street. We were rewarded by a $5 increase in our bill. Now $75/mo. Then in September, 2015 we received a letter telling us how much we were saving and that our new bill rate would be $95/mo. We got another similar letter in December and now our bill is $99.95/mo. Almost 50% increase in less than one and a half years. No other services, just internet. I've gotten several letters from this Diamond fellow talking about "enjoying" services and bundles. In the meantime there are ads on TV enticing people with $300 gift cards. What do I get for staying with TW from apt. to rental to house residence over YEARS? This treatment?? I give this about another month and I'll turn it off and go with DSL until I'm a new customer - because obviously loyalty at TWC is worthless.

I revived a letter from the desk of Mr. Diamond yesterday wondering if I knew how much I could save if I bundled and got the cable TV. You must imagine my surprise when reading this letter, I'm pretty sure my Uverse and Direct TV could not be bundled with Time Warner Cable. You see, I tried your Internet service back in December 2015, nothing went right, was charged $50.00 for the Internet set up, which I shouldn't of been, talk to your Mililani call center, which is I'm guess is part of the TCS company that is just an outsource company, then was told I owed money from years ago and the Internet was shut off. I even tried to repay the old bill but Keith was the only person in the world that could help me and he NEVER is at his desk or returns calls so I turned all my equipment in and said NEVER again will I be a customer of this horrible company. So please DO NOT mail me anything ever again. You can run new ad campaigns but the service is the same. Mr. Diamond why don't you get off your ass and be a CRS for a hour one day. I dare you!!!!

12/15/15. I received a letter today from Senior VP of Marketing Michael Diamond offering me "bundle discount". I hope this gets back to him. While I have TWC internet service, I will never go back to their cable tv service. Being used to superior cable service in San Diego thru COX, I thought when I got to the East Coast that TWC would also give superior cable service. I was mistaken.
We had their cable tv service for a while and after continual problems of the cable box failing and being exchanged 5 times and having signal strength problems that they went as far as installing a new cable from the closest connecting pole to correct the signal strength issue. All this within less than a year. After the 5th replacement of our cable box, I told the rep in the Kannapolis, NC store "If I have one more problem, I'm done with you guys". Needless to say, we had a cable box problem 3 weeks later. I returned it and cancelled cable tv and immediately switched to DIRECTV. Best move we ever made and it's been almost 6 years now.

I am a senior on fixed income who annually switches from time warner to att for internet service specials. It sure would be nice for us and you would retain us as customers if you created a low income senior citizen special rate program in which we were enrolled in the specials Plus it would be great community relations and advertising.
