Losing Too Many Children

Toyota New Service Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

??????? Just overthinking but...What I do NOT know about auto mechanics is overwhelming, but I have really been concerned about these recurring stories of children being left in the car because a caregiver forgot they were in the backseat. Since we have people who have managed to develop smart cars, I do have one thought that may or may not be plausible. Why can't a sensor be developed for each seat belt clip? When putting on a seatbelt the sensor would indicate that it was engaged. When you turn your car off, Any seatbelts still engaged would send a signal or sound to the driver. It may also create more people wearing seatbelts. I don't know if this is too simplistic or not but it seems with all the minds of the automobile industry there should be a simple solution for this problem.
