Method Of Ind. Wheel Suspension For Vehicles, Using Leaf Springs

Toyota Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

1. A vehicle sprung suspension system comprising trailing links combined with leaf springs left and right, fixed, a) at the axle end of the trailing links at the lower part, and b) to the chassis at the upper part, thereby applying spring force between the chassis and wheel hubs to which the leaf springs are attached.

2. A leaf spring set incorporating an integral damper operating directly on the spring medium itself and not directly on the chassis of a vehicle.

The invention provides simplicity, compactness and a reduction in materials, space and cost, compared to existing suspension arrangements.
