Prius Battery

Toyota Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 6 years ago

Last year one cell of my main Prius battery malfunctioned at 176,000 miles. This necessitated a entire battery replacement even though only one cell was malfunctioning, costing $3,500. Why not make the battery so any one of the 20 individual cells can be replaced at a lower cost. Whether the replacement cell is $200 or more would be cost effective for the owner. This is the only problem that has turned me off to purchasing another Prius. Otherwise you have engineered a wonderful vehicle. [email protected]
