Tyson Foods New Service Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

The Foodbox is a hot food vending machine that is filled with the delicious favorites that the locals love. Hot food vending machines have been around for a while, but the one that I'm proposing is going to be a little different. I am going to give you two scenarios to help describe my product.
(Scenario one)
Say you are a student in college and you are hungry and on your way back from the gym. You don't have time to cook or even time to stop and get something because you have a ton of studying to do. What can you do? You can go onto the Foodbox app and order you some tasty fried chicken and fries to be ready to grab once you made it to your dorm. If you wanted to take a shower first before getting your dinner, that's fine, because you can select a time that you want your food to be ready. If you want to keep your figure, we have great healthy choices as well.
(Scenario two)
You are leaving your apartment complex for work and you usually stop at the local 7-eleven to grab a bite to eat but you are in a hurry and that 7-eleven is busy. You don't want to stand in line and risk being late. What do you do? When you wake up you spend a minute or two to order your favorite breakfast that will be fresh, hot and ready for you once you are ready. No line, no time wasted, and no fuss.

Tyson Foods has the freedom to create any type of meals to accommodate the needs of their customers. They are stakeholders in all the main meats of America, the possibilities are endless. There will be a team to decide what areas we will introduce the new product. From there we will determine what kinds of meals, snacks, drinks, and sweets will be inside the vending machine.

The Foodbox will have two different ways it prepares the meals, one will have an air fryer and the second, an oven like TurboChefs'. The air fryer will cook the meals that require frying, and the oven(that blows air from the bottom up to 500 degrees and cooks a whole 14" pizza in 90 seconds) will do the rest. This amazing piece of technology will be able to communicate with the distributer and the customers through an online service. The whole menu of what's available will display either on the screen that's on the machine or your phone. This is where you can find out all the nutritional information, and it will also give you interesting facts about the dish you have chosen. The app will have a section where you can vote for your favorite food and if enough people vote for the item it will be introduced into the machine. You could even select something that's not always in the machine by paying for it in advance and it will arrive when it gets stocked. We could work with the rest stops and get them to put our product on the rest stop sign. This will also help out the vending machines that are already in place.

The target market demographic will be 18-45 because. How we would launch this product is going to be the hardest part. If we could get a group of well-known actors, athletes, and or performers and have them introduce it in a commercial. The plan would be to have them tell the public what there favorite foods are and tell them that's its easy to get them 24/7 with this new product. We won't stop there, we will also market it to investors as well. This is where this gets exciting. Foodbox will be offered as a franchise with an minimum investment that will help finance the promotion of the product. (The most expensive vending machine is around a $10,000, this is a small investment for most investors)Most of the focus at first will be around colleges and airports. Franchisees will have the freedom to put them anywhere they can. Office buildings, Retirement homes, apartment complexes, condos, golf courses, theme parks, parks that host baseball, football, and basketball games, High schools, IMG, and maybe even near gyms. Like I said the possibilities are endless with what you can put inside so that it accommodates everyone. If it is all possible we could team up with Redbox and have them advertise our product every time you rent a movie, and we will do the same for them when our product is sold. Any one of the places that I mentioned before could invest in our product and it will be an extra source of income for that property. One more way to get the product out there and get good press from it would be to put a solar powered version at rest stops. Or team up with Tesla and have the FoodBox at their new charging stations.(It would be an unmanned fuel station with hot food) This way the only time you need to go there is when its time to stock it, and there is no electric bill.

What I'm hoping to do is create such a buzz about the product that everyone must try it. Any type of meals will be available, from pizza and burgers to their new meatless shrimp. After that I would hope to flood the market. By doing this the local corner stores will not be bringing in enough revenue to continue to keep hot food in their stores. When corner stores slow down or even stop selling hot food this would be another way that we would stay competitive. Having a reliable machine that requires little to no maintenance will be the cornerstone of our new product. Placing them in high populated areas that has a decent amount of annual income for that population, I believe this will take off fast. Foodbox will also help Tysons anti-green image with the solar powered machines at rest stops. Buying a cheap, stale, processed, three day old burger from a gas station will be something of the past. please contact me @ [email protected]
