Instead of the driver looking for someone with a smart phone, in addition to a message that the driver is near, change both the drivers phone and the passenger to a similar symbol (like a circle, triangle, square so that the driver knows exactly who they are picking uo. The passenger need only point the screen to the arriving driver and be instantly identified
