Assassin's Creed Complete Multiplayer

Ubisoft New Product Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

If Assassin's Creed's multiplayer was its own game, would you play? What if this game included all previous iterations of the game--from Brotherhood to Black Flag, and beyond--as well as the maps and characters?

When AC:Brotherhood came out, Ubisoft introduced a new multiplayer experience--one that hasn't been done before. But now it's been dropped in order to focus on the main components of the games.

What I propose: Instead of tacking on the multiplayer to a new AC game, make it an independent game.

There is still an audience for the multiplayer, and if this side of the game was focused upon just as the main-game for the franchise had been, more players would be drawn to it. A highlight of the game is the customization and list of characters to pick from. To further this, remaking and revamping the previous versions (from Brotherhood to Black Flag) will draw in the nostalgic crowds--especially if the game is brought to the level of current-gen technology and graphics.

One thing that often frustrates me as a consumer and player of the AC multiplayer is the inability to find matches. There are times I want to go back and play the original multiplayer game, but it's near-impossible to get into a game. By recreating the previous installments of the multiplayer, this issue would be amended to an extant for like-minded players. Including the current game modes (Deathmatch, Wanted, Assassination, etc) and splitting them into Solo-play versus Team-play is a simple start. But by adjusting the mode further, make it possible to search for games under All of the multiplayer versions--or narrow it down to Brotherhood-only maps, or Brotherhood-only characters (and so on).

Providing an up-kept community, like Black Flag had done in the beginning, by holding events and challenges, the game would stay fresh. Adding in more characters and maps (spanning, perhaps, across timelines new AC games have touched on, or even glimpses at histories omitted from the games) will also keep players coming back for more.

I believe that this product would appeal to a large audience, and the opportunities to keep it alive and thriving are endless. I am confident that it is possible to develop, possible to market, and possible to succeed.
