Ideas For Ghost Recon Wildlands

Ubisoft Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 5 years ago

As a combat vet playing GR Wildlands, the game truly hits home. It however is missing a few important details most vets would recognize.

1.) Helmet Covers - the fact that most of these Kevlar based helmets don't have a cover is one of the most obvious ways to make it difficult to match your camo properly with the Kevlar dulling and messing up how uniform gradients match.

2.) Machine Guns??? - While the designations are correspondent to numerous branches, a US based weapon I've waited to be implemented is the 240 weapon platform. The M60 and PKM are only 7.62 machine guns available. Why not add the 1919 Browning? Or even the M27 IAR? Machine guns are limited even more by the lack of optics or attachments. My M249 I carried had a bipod-foregrip, collapsible stock, essentially the Comp4 tube sight, laser/flashlight, and a shortened tactical barrel which weighed more than the long barrel to help with accuracy from recoil. Also what is with every vehicle with a Gunner having a minigun? Where are the M2 50 caliber or the Russian 12.7 DShKM.

3.) Infrared Optics - I cannot remember a single mission I went on where at least half the members had IR optics. NVGs were issued out to everyone, but gunners got IR with white hot and black hot. Not the multi-colored thermal vision the game currently has. Several people have asked for the ability to see footsteps or heat signatures through buildings, IR would accomplish a potion of this for you. Targets leaning against walls would leave a small heat patch that transfers to the other side, and if someone stands in place long enough their footprint could be seen. It works best for picking out targets holding a weapon or seeing small details like ant trails to IEDs.

Ghost Recon Wildlands is probably one of the best military simulators I've played. The three points I've narrowed down would improve Player based options by giving tactical options.
