More Interactive Environments

Ubisoft Other Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

I believe the future of open world FPS/third person shooter games will need to incorporate a higher level of environment interaction. Many games currently have interactive environments in multiplayer, but they have only scratched the surface of this feature. For example, some current FPS games allow the use of NVGs in multiplayer, but the environment has never been such that NVGs would be required or of much advantage. How exciting would it be to allow players to alter the lighting inside a structure via disrupting the electrical system of a house, operating light switches or simply shooting out lights which would render an unprepared player vulnerable. One could also see some similarities between this idea and the respirator in Tom Clancy's The Division which restricts access to areas of a map. I'm sure there is a greater number of ideas for a more interactive environments floating around the gaming community as this is only one of mine.
