Bulgarian history is massive and full of tragedy and sorrow (perfect for an exciting ac story) .My favourite part of it is 19th century when all brave enough and freedom loving bulgarians were leaving their families to fight for liberty against their turkish masters (they were slaves) .The book "Chased away, Unneeded" from Ivan Vazov shows the life of the bulgarian rebellion ,maybe the main character can be one of them ? Also there are lots of possibilities for mixing the city environment with the great mountains of the Balkans ....
