Ground-breaking Fitness App

Verizon Wireless Marketing Idea Idea

Submitted 9 years ago

The ABCA Calculator app is designed to replace the extremely popular BMI (Body Mass Index). For decades, the medical, health, and fitness industries have apologetically used BMI simply because is it's been the only self-administered body-composition tool. BMI can now be found on more than 300 websites and receives thousands of hits a day, despite the fact that it is notoriously inaccurate and typically rates elite athletes as obese.

Of course, there are alternatives to BMI in the form of various tools for measuring body-fat, including bioelectrical impedance, ultrasound, hydrostatic weighing, and DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry). Each of these tools is far more accurate than BMI, but they share a common problem--They must all be professionally administered. In addition, these measurement tools are costly, tedious, and simply impractical for regular use. Due to this impractically, BMI is used in most medical clinics and many fitness clubs. The health/fitness community is painfully aware of BMI's shortcomings, and is desperate for an accurate, self-administered tool for assessing body composition and fitness.

The patented ABCA formula uses weight, height, chest size, and waist size to accurately rate body composition and fitness. In a pilot study, the ABCA Calculator app achieved a 1 to 1 correlation with professional skinfold measurements, and next week Auburn University will begin a study to test ABCA for correlation with DEXA--the most costly and accurate body fat tool. Like all new apps, ABCA needs exposure, but there's no doubt that it will revolutionize the health and fitness industries.

So, here's my proposal: Please consider offering the ABCA Calculator app to all of your customers. If widely publicized, this app will quickly be in great demand by fitness enthusiasts, fitness clubs, health clubs, and medical clinics, and I believe it could entice such people to switch to Verizon.

I respectfully request that you download the app from the following link and test it thoroughly: http://www.abcacalculator.com
Please put the app in the hands of Verizon employees who are fitness enthusiasts. The more they know about fitness and health the better. I have no doubt that all who try this app will enthusiastically support this proposal.

The app is available at Apple Store (download through iTunes), and will soon be available for Android.

By the way, I'm a recently retired professor of health, nutrition, and exercise science, and this app is the result of years of research and development. You will find the formula to be flawless, and I invite you to experiment with various measurements to prove it for yourselves.

Thank you for your consideration and best regards,
