Side Mirror Camera System consist of forward facing camera(s) on side mirrors allowing motorists to see around both sides of vehicles that obstruct the view of the road ahead. It would eliminate the need for a "backseat driver" to inform the motorist of the road conditions ahead in the other lane. Motorists will be able to see in the lane of oncoming traffic to more safely pass other motorists on the highway. Using, but not limited to FLIR thermal imaging technology on side mirrors, it will allow for motorists to use the SMCS in both day and night. Motorists will be able to avoid head on collisions with other motorists who are operating without headlights. Thermal imaging cameras eliminate oversaturation from headlights of passing vehicles on the display. With FLIR, motorists will be able to more safely drive in hazardous thick foggy conditions and prevent collision with another vehicle or animal on the road. And if there isnt a vehicle in front of the motorist, then he/she can enjoy a large field of view of the road ahead on the display!
