Small Decision System For Improved Visibility On Turns

Volkswagen Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 3 years ago

Non-Visibility of indicators of Cars which are running on High Beam.

Wrong decision taken by other car driver's as the indicators may not be visible on High Beams.

Proposed Solution

If we can create a system integrated with the ECU or Car Lights detection. The High Beam automatically comes down to Low Beam under below mentioned parameters.
Decision System
- If car indicator (Left or Right) in ON and the Vehicle Speed is below 70 KM/H (or any set speed).
- The car light will remain in Low Beam for 1-2 seconds after making the Turn.

Why we need the system integrated with the Intelligent System of the car?
This is because, even if the car owners change the stock headlights, this system will get applicable to that as well. The detection and decision is coming from the car ecu or main computer, so it cannot be modified or changed.

Impacts

Car which is coming in the opposite direction will notice the indication of this car with good visibility at a good distance and can make a wise decision to low down the speed of can give a signal of its high speed.

The driver from opposite direction may get more time to react on the indication.

This offers a real time safety by providing the good visibility and decision-making time in that particular scenario.

This small addition in cars intelligent system can avoid major accidents, provides safety and brings the automation in car behavior.
