I have built a resistance leg press for my home gym. It weighs around 90lbs. 4ft x 2ft x 3.5ft. It offers an extremely affordable leg press compared to the ones using plates. It is designed so you can exercise both legs or each leg separately. I currently have around 1000 lbs of resistance and have components to add another 400lbs. It is very effective and comfortable and affordable. I built it for around $350 and that is using retail priced parts.
