Patented Transparent Chuted Ice Container

Whirlpool New Product Idea

Submitted 9 years ago

This product will eliminate dropped ice cubes on the floor. It has an extended 2 1/4" chute located on the front left side of the container. It also has a contoured bottom so all cubes from the icemaker fall to the center. When a user rakes cubes through the opening down the chute, the action will happen with no hindrance at all. The complete process goes as such, a user places their glass under the chute, and with their right hand rake cubes through the opening, down the chute, and into their glass without one cube hitting the floor. I have also attached a rake to the side so if there are more than 1 in the family, everyone is not reaching into the container to retrieve cubes. We thought the transparent container would make it easier for the consumer to check the level of cubes in the bin, and could also make it easier to see the cubes. And since its so original, it would set itself apart from the others.
Patent number is 709929. I have a working prototype, and a video ready to send you if you are interested.

Thank you,
